Uncle C–The Modern Day Cowboy

You know those moments when you instantly click with someone, even though this is your first time meeting?

That happened to me over Thanksgiving last year, when I traveled with my wife (shoutout to all the other newlyweds out there) to her home state of Texas to meet her entire family.

Now three important things to mention as backdrops for this story are:

• I’d never been to Texas until that point
• I’d never met my wife’s immediate family in person, not to mention her extended family
• I’d never been around so many people, including infant kids, for this holiday

Armed with that information, let’s introduce my uncle-in-law Chuck.

The first time we met, again was on Thanksgiving, and it was amazing.

Instead of a normal handshake we dapped up (which may seem like a small thing) and it made one of those perfect, resounding, sounds reserved for deep kinsman-ship or long time friends.
